LOROS Hospice creates new remembrance garden

Coles Nurseries along with East Midlands Landscaping were contacted by LOROS to assist and support with the building of a remembrance garden for their “Always Remembered” event in Jubilee Square, Leicester. The theme for this year’s event was the “Robin”.

LOROS Hospice is a local charity that every year cares for over 2,500 people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. It provides free, high-quality, compassionate care and support to terminally ill adult patients, their family and carers.

LOROS, East Midlands Landscaping and Vince from Coles Nurseries agreed on a range of trees, shrubs and herbaceous lines to create the garden. Once they had decided on the plants a group of volunteers from both companies along with LOROS staff assisted with the build. Trucklink.EU also helped by supplying a vehicle and driver to transport the stock to site.

The garden is 150m2 and includes benches for quite reflection, trees, along with shrubs and herbaceous plants.

Photinia x fraseri “Red Robin” was used extensively throughout the garden to link the garden to the Robin theme.

The garden was officially opened on Monday 2 September. The garden was open every-day and early evening until Sunday 8th September.
